Saturday May 4 (5/4/2008)

-PotatoScreen has been released to the Movies and Games section. It allows you to key out solid colors from jpgs (jpegs), gifs, and pngs. This is mostly useful for creating your own background-less images, because programs like MS Paint are sorely lacking it. Just make a regular image with a black or white background (or any other color), save the image, then fire up this program and key out the color! You can also key out colors from online images.

Saturday April 26 (4/26/2008)

1:08 PM
-Image Mapper released to the Movies and Games section for other developers. The offline version works better, because the online version gets blocked quite frequently by silly people who don't want their images taken.

Sunday March 9 (3/9/2008)

11:52 PM
-Pixellus II released to the Movies and Games section! The game-play is similar to the original pixellus game (in the microorganism package), but with better graphics and audio. Feedback is welcome! And now I'm going to see if I can get to sleep before Monday. Blek.

Thursday March 6 (3/6/2008)

10:34 PM
-Just to keep you posted, I'm working on several new smaller games, and tuning up some old ones. I plan to add sound and images to microbe and pixellus, as well as possibly re-making the spaceship game. A have a couple brand-new games in mind as well. Please don't hesitate to visit my forum or email me at ferrettsyl@gmail.com if you have any suggestions. I can't do 3-D programs yet, but I'm currently reading a book about it. Whatever your suggestion is, there's a fair chance I'll use it if it's reasonable.

Thursday March 6 (3/6/2008)

6:56 PM
-Image Resizer added to the Movies and Games section. It's not really a movie or game; it is a small program that can resize multiple images to the same size simultaniously. I made it for stop-animation and and things like that.

Sunday February 24 (2/24/2008)

11:11 PM
-Brick Breaker updated. Bricks now randomly drop "powerups".

Thursday February 21 (2/21/2008)

-Ah ha! Brick Breaker runs online now! See the Movies and Games section.

Thursday February 21 (2/21/2008)

4:24 PM
-Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Brick Breaker added to the Movies and Games section. It's based on the classic brick-breaking games, but with a twist: you're the ball. Use the arrow keys or w-a-s-d to move left/right. Shift freezes the horizontal motion of the ball. P is pause. There are a few cheats too. Online version (hopefully) coming soon.

-Abstract Potato has had 100 visitors!!!

Friday February 1 (2/1/2008)

9:15 PM
-The Sheep Game has been updated. The download size should be decreased. The first time you run it, it may take a while to start up. Windows users use the auto-run to start up the program. The mac version is pending.

Tuesday January 29 (1/29/2008)

7:21 PM
-The Sheep Game has been updated. It should run faster now. Regretably, the macintosh version is not yet available. A couple bugs with the editor have been fixed in this release.

Friday January 4 (1/4/2008)

12:10 PM
-The Sheep Game has finally been released to the Movies and Games section. The only level so far is the tutorial level, but once you beat that you can make your own levels. If you make a good level, I would be happy to host it. Email me at ferrettsyl@gmail.com .

Thursday January 3 (1/3/2008)

12:10 PM
-The sheep game is coming along (screenshot). I'll release it soon.

Monday, December 30 (12/30/2007)

5:45 PM
-Flying Shapes released to the Movies and Games section. Type in random jibberish in the top box and click "execute text", and it will draw shapes depending on what you typed. If you type a character that the engine does not know, it will substitute it with a random one. Thus it gives you semi-random results. You can also "execute" a file, and it will interpret its contents into an array of shapes. You can also change the frame rate, or how long the program waits before displaying the next line of information.

Monday, December 30 (12/30/2007)

1:04 PM
-The 2-D game (named SheepHerder) is almost finished -- The tutorial level is done and I'm just waiting for a few more graphics. If you're interested in developing other levels, contact me at ferrettsyl@gmail.com .

Saturday, December 1 (12/1/2007)

4:32 PM
-Random Translator released to Movies and Games section. I made it for a contest with a friend -- it converts anything you type to a garbage-language. It has a built in-vocabulary of 856 words, and gains more everytime you add something new. (New words are deleted when program is exited or vocabulary is re-randomized).

Saturday, November 17 (11/17/2007)

9:36 AM
-MazeMaker 2.4 released to Movies and Games section. Makes it easier to place start and finish points (click where you want them on the maze render window). It also runs on Macintosh, as well as Windows. I might not update for a while now - I need to catch up on some sleep.

Friday, November 16 (11/16/2007)

11:44 PM
-Home button painstakingly added to every page. (Well, okay, the program that did it for me was painstakingly made, hence the late hour). I hope thou art pleaseth.

Friday, November 16 (11/16/2007)

12:21 AM
-As you may have noticed, Syleand has been converted to Abstract Potato . This is because "abstract potato" is both easier to remember and I found a cheaper domain service than what I originally had. Yes, I know I forgot to put a "home" link in the navigation bar. I'm working on it.

Sunday, September 23 (9/23/2007)

5:19 PM
- Movies and Games section changed a bit. Now Syleand's movies/games appear in a table, complete with auto-installers, so you don't have to worry about unzipping them to certain files and all that. I think that they might not work on a Macintosh.

Sunday, September 2 (9/2/2007)

11:03 PM

- MazeMaker 2.2 . The main difference is that you can now print things directly.

Tuesday, August 21 (8/21/2007)

11:46 PM
- MazeMaker 2.1 is here! It includes 4 new features: a new editing-view-window (grid), an grid-view option for the final view window (does not show up on export), and an option that lets you fill up the final view screen with walls (which you can then 'burrow' a path through with the grid-view-window). Here's a screenshot .

Monday, August 20 (8/20/2007)

5:17 PM
-It's been a while since an update. MazeMaker Independant , MazeMaker for Windows , and MockDesktop (A prank) added to the Movies and Games section . MazeMaker allows you to create mazes and export them to image files. MockDesktop is a prank that allows you to fill the victim's screen with a picture, idealy a screen-shot of their desktop so they don't see anything wrong, except nothing works when they click on it. Enjoy!

4:14 PM
- Animator Game1.1.zip (40.8kb) added to the Movies and Games section. You can still use old animation files with the new version.

Sunday, June 3 (6/3/2007)

5:38 PM
- Animator Game.zip (16kb) added to the Movies and Games section. It's a tool used to create simple animations and drawings, and it stores them in text (.txt) files. It also has some of the elements of a simple game in it.

Sunday, May 20 (5/20/2007)

1:07 PM
- Mazes added to the Movies and Games section.

Sunday, March 11 (3/1/2007)

Sunday, March 11 (3/1/2007)

6:20 PM
- Version 6 of the SpaceShip Game released to the Movies and Games section. The biggest difference is that there are more cheats in 1-player version. (To use cheats, first push the ~ button under the ESC button, and then push various numbers to toggle the various cheats.) The cheats are now included in the README file.

Sunday, March 11 (3/1/2007)

-New game added to Movies and Games section: SpaceShip Game Version 3 . I made this one myself. Yes, I did make a one and two, but I made this one so soon afterwards that you probably didn't see them before they were replaced with version 3.

Friday, January 04 (1/04/2007)

8:28 PM
-My new web hosting service, freewebs, has decided to post a message saying "this form is inoperational" on many of my web pages. Just ignore this notice, it's just my hosting service being annoyingly demonic. Most of the forms actually do work, with the exception of a few of the tests under the spoof section. They work just fine on my home computer. Why do all the hosting services I get stop working?! It is really starting to get annoying. Oh, well.

Tuesday, November 21 (11/21/2006)
